Evaluation boards and starterkits for HC08


We designed the evaluation boards and starterkits for quick and easy software development or testing for each special controller. You could also use them for quick design of hardware prototypes e.g. breadboard construction without the need of special SMD boards.

The Monitor-Mode-Interface provides the ability of software debugging or In-Circuit-Programming of the Controllers Flash Memory.

Main specifications of the boards:

  • Uniform pinout of all boards for easy fit on test hardware or prototypes (2,54mm-grid)
  • Dimensions ca. 52 x 57,4mm
  • Oscillators and quartz crystals in different structural shapes could be used
  • Reset-switch
  • You could optional assemble: voltage regulator, 2 LEDs
  • We used special long Pinheads for easy connection of e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyser or test hardware on each side of the board

Evalboard EB08 GZSBC

EB08 GZ16

This board supports following controller type:

  • 68HC908GZ16 in 48 pin LQFP package
  • Additionally mounted MC33989 SBC (System Basis Chip) wich contains a CAN transceiver and voltage regulator
  • Additionally mounted MC33886 H-Bridge to control e.g. a small DC motor

  • Board Dimension of EB08_Ql: 55.9 x 51.3 mm
  • Integrated Voltage Regulator
  • H-Bridge (Freescale MC33386 oder MC33387) to control small DC Motors
  • Circuits for testing, evaluation and debugging ( 2 push-buttons, pin headers to give access to all ‘QL pins and freely usable pads for own circuits)
  • Easy connection of power, LIN bus and H-bridge via screw terminals

CAN Starterkit

  • Complete and stand alone running starterkit for CAN-Applikations with 68HC908AZ60A
  • Also available as GZ16 version with H-Bridge and System Basis Chip (EB08 GZSBC)
  • contains Monitor-Mode-Interface (MONIF08-LC) for Flash-Programming and debugging
  • PC software for Flash-Programming included
  • Suitable as Mini-CAN-Monitor for testing of CAN systems (runs on 68HC908AZ60A), PC interface via RS232. Software (for µC) is included.
  • The CAN-driver-Software for the HC908AZ60 could be used as base for own designs. The source is included
  • The package contains the power supply and all needed wires: unpack and start!
